Enjoy your New Year's Eve.
Starting Monday and hopefully continuing throughout the year we are going to have a 'Deal of the Day'. I know I can not keep up with one a day so the Deal of the Day will be active for a week. Hopefully each Monday we will put a new item on special. You will not have to enter a code it will just be specially priced. Our first special will be the panel on our home page. The Senator John Heinz History Center is having a 'Quilter's Weekend' on January 23-24. There will be an Antique quilt display, machine demonstrations, hands on activities and quilt book exchange. There is also a Special presentation on African American quilting and a behind-the-scenes look at Gee's Bend/Nia Quilter's Project. To check this out go to www.heinzhistorycenter.org
Enjoy these Sugar Spice Nuts
3/4 cup sugar
3 Tablespoon water
1 egg white, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 1/2 cups whole unblached almonds or 2 cups pecan halves
In a large bowl, combine first eight ingredients. Mix well. Add nuts and stir until coated. Spread evenly in a greased 15 x 10 x 1 -inch baking pan. Bake at 250? for 45 minutes. Stir every 15 minutes.
