Happy Holidays!

November 23, 2007

I do hope your holiday season is getting off to a great
start.

After much time I have completed the pattern for the
hostess apron so many of you admired at the quilt shows. I
realize I should have done this a month ago but... It is
really pretty easy to put together.

I also have finished the second comforter from the Dick and
Jane panels--one more and I may get to keep one. If you
check out the White Dick and Jane Panel on the fabrics page
you can see it. There was no pattern, just a whole bunch
of 2" squares stitched together to form squares and strips.

You may have noticed a difference in the check out.
Because of some 'surprise' fees I am no longer taking
credit cards independently. (It was actually cheaper for me
to just give away the merchandise than use the credit card
services and that was with the reduced fees.) PayPal
recently made it possible to pay without having a paypal
account and to allow the web site to accept credit cards.
This should work, if not we'll find a 'plan B'. Let me
know if you have any difficulties so I can address the
problems.

Enjoy your holidays and here is a great recipe for
snacking.

Sugar Spice Nuts

3/4 cup sugar
3 Tablespoon water
1 egg white, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 1/2 cut whole unblanched almonds or 2 cups pecan halves

In a large bowl, combine first eight ingredients. Mix
well. Add nuts and stir until coated. Spread evenly in a
greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch baking pan. Bake at 250 degrees
for 45 minutes. Stir every 15 minutes.

Enjoy!
