Finally it is Spring!

April 21, 2006

Now that you are all outside enjoying the great weather I
have finally started this short note. With the warm
weather comes the end of my classes--math classes and the
start of the preparations for the Kutztown Pennsylvania
German Festival. This is a great festival with so much to
do and see (should I say taste--sausage sandwiches,
ox-roast, waffles and ice cream, strawberry shortcake,
lemonade...). The festival management has made it a
priority to have many kids activities, most of which are
included in the admission. (Kids under 12 are free). So
after you put your stitches in the visitor's quilt stop and
see us right next door. You can visit the festival web
site by going to our 'links' page and clicking on the
festival link.
We will have our new mugs available as well as many
handmade gifts and a new selection of fabrics. The current
projects include denim vests and throws made from cast off
jeans. The pictures you see on this page are two bears
from the ...And the three bears pattern (17" and 24" sizes)
and a quick view of our stand at the Kutztown Festival.
Finding that top hat was a trick, I am still looking for a
cane. A suggestion that I make one from clay will have to
be given some serious thought.
When we figure out why the most junior executive's
camera won't upload pictures we will post some of the
projects in a new page called 'project ideas'. I haven't
figured out how to offer free patterns you can download but
I can show you some pictures to get your creative juices
flowing. As you can tell this is a work in progress,
please stand by as we learn the workings of these machines!
Until after the PSU Blue/White game...
